Man, you just don't seem to be making very many friends around here of late. You're right about being able to have your own opinion, you do have a freedom of speech, but that only exists in America. This (waving hands in a cricle around PlanetGamecube) is not America. It is not a country, nor is it free. I'm sure the staff would be thrilled if it were, but the fact is they still have to pay for it. And because of that, they say what goes. Just as if this were an actual building they owned and you came in spouting about something, they would have the right to tell you to stop and/or leave.
Now, I don't know everything about what's going on, so I'll be the first to say that I should keep my nose to my own buisness. However, I couldn't help myself. After all I am a PlanetGamecube reader, and the forum motto (I guess) explained it all. I don't think the mods are telling you to shut up entirely, just not to complain quite so much. If you had to be around this one person and that person kept complaining about every little thing that you liked, you, yes you, who is so anti-censorship, would tell that person to shut up. I have a little saying I like to.. say... that goes something like this: "Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but in my opinion, your opinion sucks." Take that and apply it how you want, even to what I'm saying.
The fact of the matter is that you don't have a free voice here, and what voice you have been given is a voice you're strecthing to the limit of many people's tolerances. If you don't like something, fine! Great! Don't like it. I doubt anyone here really has the power to change it all for your view of what's better. Video games are not designed for you, they're designed for the public, and from my video game experiences I've had a lot of fun with some mini-games. Some were boring, but many were fun. If you don't like a certain mini-game, so much so you can't play it to get past it, don't play it. It's as simple as that. Instead, go play Pac-Man. Or Ms. Pac-Man. Find a game that doesn't have mini-games and have a blast with it. But if you honestly cannot play mini-games, then you'll be missing out on some mighty fine games. Final Fantasy VII is a perfect example. Excellent game, with excellent mini-games.
So what I suggest, and of course is just MY suggestion, you sit down, and think about how much you enjoy playing video games. Think about whether or not you want to get through some bad to get to the good. Not every video game is a perfect 10. I might make some people cry with this following thing, but I dare say that most video games are in fact.. average. They don't all wow us out of our pants. So buck up, and don't shut up, but just be a little quieter. If I'm in the wrong here, that's too bad. Just don't look for all the bad in any given game. You're supposed to have fun playing video games.
