Just wanted to make some notes about the game here.
It is clearly an upgrade of the last Ouendan, containing all of the updated features found in EBA. The song selection is excellent. For the most part, every song has a very distinct rhythm which makes the game very fluid to play. It is not very often that you fumble in the medium setting mode. Now when you step up to the hard mode, things definitely amp up, requiring more complicated maneuvers and more disorienting note progressions. These songs will take a few tries before you will be able to complete them, however when you do so you will have mastered the song and your score should be very high upon completion. So far it feels like the medium mode of Ouendan 2 is much easier than that of EBA.
I wanted to comment on the rival cheer squads as well. They don't seem to tie together in any special manor. It makes for a more interesting story, but doesn't really add anything to the game. The map is separated, one half for the Ouendan squad and the other for the new cheer squad, however you don't get to face off on the same character with both squads. The end pairs up the two to save the world as you have done in all of the games in the series.
Pretty much everything Pap mentioned above is added into the game which is nice. The advanced beat patterns don't start until hard mode, but they are there.
Overall the game is awesome and much better than all of the other entries in the series. I look forward to Ouendan 3.
