Hmmmm. Not much talk about this one. I'm a little hesitant to buy this. I've been looking forward to it for a while now, but it seems I can't find reviews to save my life (except for two at gamerankings.com (7 and 9). It's supposedly a little on the short side, but I don't care about that. Anyone played this yet?

The game is not finished yet.  This is why there aren't many reviews of it--and if there ARE reviews out, don't bother trusting them.  The game looks terrific!

Actually, the game is finished. It was released today, and earlier in Europe.

Rayman 3 looks pretty good. But I think I’ll rent it first. It’s not like GameCube has a shortage of games.

Whoops. Actually, the game is going to be released on March 4th. The release dates section always had it for the 26th.

Whoops...wow...it's out!  I thought they were still putting the finishing touches on it!  Hahah!

Anyway, you can get the game for $39.99 at EB and IGN Gamestore, and IGN offers free Ground Shipping with the code RAYMANIII, I believe.  How cool is that?  I saw the deal last night.

On top of that, I saw in 'play' magazine (you know, Dave Halverson's new "DECENT" mag that started poorly but has improved) that Dave gave Rayman 3 five stars, a perfect score.  You can say what you want about 'play,' and I'm sure many of you have your own opinions, but Dave knows his platformers.  That said, I've seen some strange reviews in 'play' over the past year or so.  I found the perfect score for Star Fox Adventures a bit ridiculous, and the 5 star review for Blinx gave me pause, though I guess it's possible.

This month they have Zelda The Wind Waker 5 stars, too.  Bear in mind that under their rating system, it's not as precise as something like a 100 point scale in GameFan or 10 point at GS or IGN.  As to that, I prefer the less meticulous reviews, simply because as I've said before, I think it's presumptuous to think you can differentiate a game's value down to a one-hundredth or even a tenth.  Just sounds silly, and scores are so misleading so often.  Anyway, that's another thread, so I'll stop.

In the end, I'm very interested in Rayman 3, but the reason it isn't talked much about, I think, is simply because Rayman isn't that engaging a character and the series, though actually brilliant most of the time, has never seemed be able to find that magic mass audience.

I'm thinkin' about buying it, since it'll only cost me 20 smackaroos. I heard it's short, though. I may just rent it. . . I don't know. I'm gonna' see what IGN gives it first (other reviews have given it 8's and 9's).

Gamespot says the game is too short. That's a major letdown IMO and it doesn't make me want the game, though my brother is thinking about getting it anyway.

short, but maybe some replay value with the GBA minigames, especially the Tetris style one.

I beat the about 20 hour Star Fox Adventures in one 7 day blockbuster rental...And since this is 10 hours, you should be able to beat it in one rental.

i'm playing through rayman 3 right.. and overall, a pretty enjoyable game right.. the camera is kinda iffy at points, but overall a decent game.. and then i get to the final boss.. no spoilers, but lemme just say that whoever designed the final boss battle must suffer from mild retardation.. i dunno about you, but when platforms disappear for no reason whatsoever (and no, they are not supposed to disappear) it makes for a very frustrating time... anyone who's played through this game probably knows what i'm talking about... BLARGH! i hate this game now...
