I need some cheering up
« on: October 16, 2007, 03:58:29 PM »
Today was one of the most embarrassing and stressful days of my life. I nearly failed my school practical. I was so upset that I decided to take a break from it as the stress was getting to me.

In the meantime, I need some cheering up. Can anyone think of stuff that can get my spirits up? Movies? Books? Games? Some wise words of wisdom?

I'll be eternally grateful and I need a friend right now.

There's always cake.

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

What's a school practical?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Yeah, I was going to ask that as well... doing a Google search turns up like nothing.

I recommend Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. Specifically, the audio book version, which is brilliantly read by Lenny Henry (he played the shrunken head in the Knight Bus in Harry Potter 3.) I listened to it on the way back from my Grandfather's funeral. It made me laugh, and feel much better about life.
