Box Art?
« on: September 18, 2007, 05:57:06 AM »
Sorry if this is old news but...this looks pretty damn real to me

http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/object/748/748545/SmashBrawlRPBoxartboxart_160w.jpg

Its on IGN's profile for smash. Its all brand new art instead of a bunch of already existing images put together. Yea, this is it.

Everyone's been using that boxart, even NWR even though it hasn't been confirmed. If it turns out to be fake many faces will be red...

If it does turn out to be fake I would have to say that is the most professional fake I have ever seen and someone needs to hire the artist or artists.

Has it be said to be real? It's a great mock-up, and I assumed it was to be taken as that.

I'm the one who put it up on our site here.  While it wasn't released on Nintendo's press site, there is just too much evidence to say that is real.

Mainly, a ton of sites (like Wal-Mart and Amazon) are using it when they never use unofficial box art.

Also, the art in it has not been released anywhere and is just too good for most Photoshop hacks.

And it doesn't have a gratuitous picture of Snake standing to the side, completely out of proportion to every other character.

Still don't like how everything involved with this game is turning uber dark.

I would have included the 3rd party characters on the cover because that adds incentive for non-Nintendo fans to buy the game.

I'm sure there are many MGS fans who will pick up Brawl and a Wii just because Snake is in it. Same would go for Sonic, Megaman, etc. if they're in it. Even if they're unlockable, they should still be on the front cover.

This boxart could be a temporary placeholder until the real one is released.

Very true. I believe Nintendo created the placeholder box just so stores can advertise pre-orders, but I fully expect a real one to be released closer to December 3rd. Wouldn't want to spoil potential Smash Bros. Dojo updates.

But the menus are white!  That automatically makes it lighter than Melee!

Nintendo used a placeholder box art for Melee as well.

Considering that online mode is confirmed they need to add in the Wi-fi logo.
