A Sony 2nd party going 3rd(?)...
« on: July 13, 2007, 06:34:04 PM »
I was looking at the the software release list for the Wii in the next year or so. (From the kit leak...) And I noticed something the developer XSEED Games which I see primarily on PSP/PS2 titles is making a game for the Wii (Victorious Boxers Revolution). I find it strange because I thought I heard that Sony owned a portion of them, and they are the makers of Wild Arms and Legend of Legaia. Which brings me to the question if they are free to make games on a rivial's system who accually owns the rights to some of their properties. (Even though I like to make fun of afore mentioned two series I do/did like playing them.)
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

Sony decided that for once, they wanted to steal another platform's exclusive.  They searched high and low for a third party to help them out, but after half a year, they gave up and decided to fake it, because the sex wasn't satisf...er, they got tired of looking.

Didn't Nintendo's GC experience the same 2nd party abandonment last gen? Seems like it anyway.

Well Xseed isn't a 2nd party of Sony sure they published Wild Arms but so did agetec, also I recall Ubi publishing Ape Escape, Sony sometimes doesn't publish their first party or second party games if they don't have a chance of selling well so they treat it like a hand me down and give it to the third party. Microsoft was guilty of this when Majesco published the awesome game Phantom Dust  which was developed by Microsoft Japan.
