Wii Error Code Anger
« on: June 19, 2007, 01:04:40 PM »
I have had a Wii for about a month now and have been able to connect WiFi in the beginning;
however, lately I have been getting the Error Codes: 50142 and 107304.
1. WiiConnect24 is on
2. My computer says that "SASUKE" is connected
3. My firewall has everything on the Wii "trusted"
4. My Nintendo DS can still connect
5. I will destroy something if I can't get this thing to work!!!!!

P.S. I keep seeing "a user is connect" pop up at the bottom of my computer screen every 5 min.

Error Code: 50000-59999 - The Nintendo DS is unable to connect to an Access Point.
Details

107304 isn't a valid error code that I can see - the numbers are normally limited to five digits.

My advice:
1. It looks like you're connected to a USB dongle. I have no experience with this device so I can't help you with setting it up.

2. Where is the Wii positioned relative to the dongle? Things that could be the problem include distance (30 feet or more and your connection will probably be affected significantly) and appliances between the Wii and the dongle (microwaves, appliances that emit electromagnetic waves that could interfere with the networking signal). The error code I did find suggests that interference or distance from the dongle could be your problem so try and see if you can isolate that problem.

3. What are you trying to do when the error appears? Can you pass the Connection Test through the Wii menu?

I know that the Error Code 107304 is not in Nintendo's error code bank...
I am getting very angry at this WiFi thing...If it says it can't connect to the internet...
...than why does it say I'm connected on my computer!?!?!?!
"It looks like you're connected to a USB dongle. I have no experience with this device so I can't help you with setting it up."
        - what???

And no, I can't pass the test anymore.
And I am using an USB Connector

Temporarily disable your firewall and see if it still persists. That seems to make me think that it can connect to the computer through the dongle but the computer is stopping the Wii from then connecting to the Internet.

If that doesn't work, clear everything and start afresh.

1. Uninstall the WiFi dongle software (this is the stuff I can't help you with setting up). Clear the wireless settings in your Wii.

2. Install the WiFi dongle software. Disable (temporarily) the firewall you have running (Windows Firewall or something else?)

3. Set up the Wii wireless connection and perform the connection test.

4. Once you have that working, permit access to the WiFi software on your computer (can't help you with specifics but I think that is where the problem lies).
