Progscan on VC?
« on: June 16, 2007, 06:13:10 AM »
Seems some new VC games now have talk about "enabling Interlace mode with component cables" in their descriptions, some were even updated for it (I redownloaded Cv4 because it said there's a new version). I suppose that means they can do prog scan now since the other way around makes little sense. When was that added?

Yes, I plugged my Wii back in and bought a points card. Now grabbing Story of Thor, Zelda LttP and a third game for up to 800 points I still have to decide upon (tending towards Wonderboy or Dragon's Curse, those are from the same series, right?).

Interlace over component cables? Isn't that a step down? Can anyone confirm that the games previously used progressive scan over component? Were there any problems?
Thanks for listening.

Every VC title always did 480P in progressive scan (and if you weren't a fiend against pixels, they looked great).  I think what this might be is adding a scanline mode to VC games so in pro scan it looks more like it did long ago.

Wait, wait. Does this mean they look better this way or something? Because as of now VC games look much, much better in 480P over component.

I think more true to the source be more appropriate.
