I just beat the original Ninja Gaiden with ease...

I used to play this game everyday for 3 years.  I think its been about 16 years since I played...but I recognized every pattern for every level...just like riding a freakin' bicycle...

My nephews who grew up in the N64 generation were floored by how good I was...I'm freakin' bad ass with some Ninja Gaiden.  Anyone else have this problem of picking up an old school game on the VC and just kicking ass and taking names.  Now I know what Jason Bourne feels like!

Try playing thru Street Fighter II (SNES) on level 8 diff. while taking zero damage.

Its funny you mentioned that...my younger brother has actually gone through SFII without losing a round...not taking damage is nearly impossible...after all the blocking you've got to do that actually takes damage.  Can you do it Professional 666?

I did it with Guile one fateful Dec. 23 afternoon in my mid-teens, before a time anyone was graced by Mario 64.

I later learned that day, Dec. 23 is Guile's fictional birth date.

When you rack up all the rounds perfectly, you can finish the game in excess of 1 million points.  Beating M. Bison perfectly gets you an 80,000pt bonus.  My final score was 1,001,000 pts.  The other sweet part of the ordeal is getting to see those credits roll, which are one of my all time fav staff rolls.

But my memory may be fuzzy.  I remember blocking special moves incurs damage, while blocking regular attacks does not.  I never got hit by a standard attack, and I don't recall making contact with any special attacks.  If I took any damage, I wouldn't have gotten enough "perfects" to build my score so high, with such a clean number.

So yeah, I did do it.  And I've been a worse fighting game player ever since.  Until SSBM came along.

ok i specifically remember beating SF2 Turbo on lvl8 with Ken & Ryu w/out losing a round, and beating the original SF2 on lvl8 with Guile perfectly.  no more doubts for me.

Wow, I suck.  I have a hard time beating Street Fighter on level 4.  

And Ninja Gaiden took my name and killed me over and over.

I have surprised myself with how quickly I picked back up many of the platforming games that challenged me younger.  Super Mario World doesn't feel nearly as challenging, even though my wife was wondering how any of those levels were possible.
