Gamecube problem HELPPP!!! "NO DISC" error
« on: March 15, 2007, 01:22:53 PM »
Hi, what can i say, i'm f***ed,  my gamecube doesn't work since more than less a month... i was playing like i never did... but i had to go somewhere... when i came back i put the power buton on and... the worst thing that can happen to a gc gamer.... it didn't work. I can hear some snaps, clicks when i turn it on and i realize that the lens works but the motor doesn't spin... i called a technician and he said that it was the laser.. so i spent a lot of money for the fking lens... i put it and the same problem.. i put the disc and the menu screen apears... i go to the top of the square and it says: "NO DISC" "insert a disc"... so i think it's not the laser.. also i turned it on opened and the laser was red and it hits the edge of where it is and "click" and the motor not even tries spinning. HELP!!! anyone who can help me.... i saw in another topic that it was the laser suspension but i didn't understood if someone could explain that i would be very grateful

sorry for my english, i'm from argentina.

Gamecube is dead, get a Wii. 100% backwards compatible (aside from the Free Loader).
I think it says on the box, 'No Hispanics' " - Jeff Green of EA

So your advise is to spend $250 (probably more if he has to buy it in Argentina) on a new system he may not want?  Forgive me for saying so, but that doesn't seem like much help.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

TuTEEE, you could always find a used GC for a good price now.

That depends.  How much would it cost to replace the system with a new or used one, compared to the money and trouble you've already spent trying to repair it?

Most "solutions" on the internet are only temporary.  They generally don't last nearly as long as a new or factory-refurbished system would.

if it doesn't spin then yes, it must be the motor... and in such case, you need a new drive.... which might be more expensive than buying a new GC (since you would probably have to import one). The only other options you have is to save for a new GC (which I guess must be around 150 dollars, about the same it costs here...) or a Wii... but that one goes a lot higher... (I can get one for 700 here, so over there it must be like 550 or 600 dollars....)

Well I don't know what to tell you its sounds like you need some expert to assist you. The only thing I can do is recommend you to a really good tech support that have live chat support that you can use for free. I really recommend it!
