Topic: Good...gravy...The most intense session of Wii Baseball yet...

Man, whoever says that Wii Sports is a shallow game without any depth or no pro skills I am going to slap them silly with my aching arm...

I just one hardcore and intense game of Wii Baseball in hopes of reaching pro status. It was three innings of close calls, unfair maneuvers and intense bat  swinging and ball throwing.

The first inning, I was owning the computer players, and I was even thinking that I was going to win this via the mercy rule. I change sides and the computer was dead set on stripping me of my victory. Of course, they only get 2 hits.

Second inning, I am OWNING these suckers like crazy. Hit, after hit, after hit...I was able to reach up to 10 hits easily.

I change sides and the computer players decide to get serious. I nearly broke my arm trying to throw the ball as hard as possible. But no matter how hard I tried, the computer players would hit the ball every fricking time! So they were WAY behind at first, and now we were 10 to 9....I was getting FURIOUS.

By the third inning I made sure they wouldn't win and the end results were...10 to 9. I win by a point...

My arm hurts like crazy right now...It was AWESOME!

I'm pretty sure how hard you throw the ball has no effect on how fast the ball goes.

I believe so as well. I noticed that in some cases the ball will go fast thanks to the movement. Sometimes what buttons you are holding determine what type of ball you throw.

And even if my performance wasn't affected by how hard I threw I was way into it to care.

yeah, quick jabs or fast arm swings will give you a faster pitch. If you do a slow movement then you get those nice slow 60 mph pitches.

I find aiming straight at their faces is the most effective.

The pitch speed is affected by your motion but it's limited, won't go below ~100km/h or above ~150km/h.

There's no "sometimes" about it.

No buttons = fastball
Hold A = screwball
Hold B = curveball
Hold A + B = splitter

You can also throw a change up by not holding any buttons and throwing "slowly".

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you didn't know you can move the batting box via the D-pad; you can.

You can also switch to side arm pitching and back by pressing button one or two.  That helps confuse the computer some.

Baseball is fun, but can be very challenging...and frustrating.  Learning when to swing at pitches, and what pitches are balls is very difficult.

IMO after hitting pro level, baseball isn't fun anymore; the computer hits every pitch and throws wildly every time
