WarioWare Smooth Moves Videos Surface
« on: November 30, 2006, 05:52:56 PM »
Including some particularly awesome 9-Volt games. Updated with one new video.

With the Wii launch only days away in Japan, a few individuals have gotten a hold of systems as well as copies of Odoru Made in Wario, also known as WarioWare: Smooth Moves.  FourFive videos have been posted on YouTube showing off several different microgames, and are worth the look.

In particular, the 9-Volt video features several games based on Nintendo games and toys ranging all the way from their playing card manufacturing days to recently released and even unreleased games.  Some are based directly on classic gameplay, while others are completely remade.  Not to spoil the surprise, but the boss battle is something very special.

Nintendo has also opened up their website for the game, which features blog posts by characters from the game.  WarioWare: Smooth Moves is not scheduled for release until January 16th in the US.

I may buy WarioWare for that Star Fox micro game alone.

I'll agree, WarioWare SM is shaping up to be a great game... I've always enjoyed the other versions a lot, so, this one is gonna be even greater!

I laughed at the WW Twisted microgame inside the Wii version.  Smart.

Did you see Penny's intro? An even Mona's cuter than before!

It seems that Wario ware smooth moves is turning EVERY factor of the game up to 11 (cuteness, weirdness, coolness, nostalgia, randomness etc.).

The one thing I am worried about, though, is those black and white screens with the monotone narrator talking about the controls. They abruptly interrupt the energy of the game. I mean, here you are level 10, the games are coming at you fast, the game is extremely energetic and then...the game stops for a BORING lecture on controls.

I hope you are able to turn those off in the final game.

But other than that, this is shaping to be the best Wario ware yet.

I think those tutorials appear only when you first encounter a control style...
