My DS is acting screwy

My DS is acting screwy.

Here's the issue:  When I turn on my DS it no longer shows the Health and Safety warning on the bottom screen; it lights up but there's no text.  It shows the Nintendo DS logo on the top screen just fine but the bottom screen is blank.  After the logo is done with its animation it loads right into the game (I have my DS set to automatically load the game and skip the main menu)--I no longer have to touch the screen/button in order to load the game.  Other than this, the system works perfectly fine.

Here's the back story, which may or may not be the cause of the issue (most likely it is):  Three days ago my DS refused to charge.  I tried multiple outlets and made sure the connection was good, but it still wouldn't charge.  I used a battery tester to ensure both the outlet and the charger were functioning, which they were.  I then removed the battery and tested it--the battery was also fine.  I cleaned all the connections and replaced the battery.  Still nothing.  I gave up and went to go do something else.  I came back in a bit and repeated all the same procedures--this time, after replacing the battery, it charged just fine.  However, once I turned on the system the Health and Safety screen stopped appearing when I booted the system.

Weird, huh?  Anyone heard of this before?  The other odd thing is that this happened almost two years to the day (well, two years and one day, to be exact) after I got my DS.

Maybe it's to tell Nintendo you broke the Warranty.

So they only thing that is happening is you no longer get the health/safety warning? That is pretty weird if that is the case, but it's really not so bad.
Thanks for listening.

I knew a guy who flashed DS ROM to get rid of the health and safety warning. He could do some crazy crap with it.

Last night my DS magically fixed itself.

I turned it on and it showed me the Health & Safety Warning for the first time in two months.  After I touched the screen it jumped to the main menu and asked me to do the initial setup (my name, favorite color, date/time, and my birthday).  It seems the system's memory was completely wiped out.  I'm not exactly sure why because when I used it the day before it was working perfectly.  After I re-entered my info and restarted the system it works perfectly fine; just like it did before this entire mess started.

The weird part is it somehow remembered that I like to bypass the main menu and boot right into a game (assuming I have a DS cartridge inserted).

Nevermind; it's screwy again.

Yesterday I couldn't get the system to charge.  I took out the battery and messed around with all the connections a bit.  Eventually, I figured out that my charger went bad.  Lucky for me, I had a second one I have never even opened.  After I charged up my system I went to turn it on and it skipped the Health and Safety screen.

I have no idea what's going on here.
