Findint a wii,you cant trust Target(gotta vent sry)
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:59:29 AM »
This is a wonderful expirience i had with a target store in Watertown,SD,when i tried to get a nintendo wii. I called around noon to ask if they had any nintendo wiis, the lady who answered asked if it was about the wii right away when i asked for electronics and said they had 5 of them, now they are 4 hours away from me so i ask if she can hold one and she says no...ok fine,i go to get some friends and we head for Watertown, calling along the way to see if they are selling down, everytime i talk to the same moron who tells me Yes we have 5 of them, last time i call is probably 30-45 mins before arriving at the store and she tells me the same thing,so im thinking cool ill get one. We get to the store i walk back to electronics and the kid working tells me they sold out an hour and a half ago....WTF!?!?Targets customer service retard just told me you had 5 of them!WOW that was reeeaally funny, woulda been hilarious if i broke her jaw over it.Anyway i complain to the manager and she tells me she will talk to her 'Team' about it (wow that makes me feel better)so the moral is-never trust a target customer service rep, they cant count to 5......Oh and then i call corporate to complain and say that if she cost the Target store as much money as she cost me in gas she woulda been fired, and the guy i talked to on the phone says,'What does that have to do with me'WTF you idiot you're the guy people call to complain WTF do you mean 'What does that have to do with me'

Paragraphs and punctuation should be your two best friends. Anyways you do have to understand not all customer service is perfect you would learn this if/whenever you work at a retail chain. Also since your said that you guys did have a long drive people might of picked some up during your drive there. Also dont ever rely on just one store especially for something like a DSlite or a Wii always have backups.

Ouch.. bad luck. I had a few unpleasant experiences while looking for a Wii, but most of the stores were close to me.

I work at a best buy the least amount we got in was 18 a week ago and they were gone in 15 mins once they were received. Me I would trust a best buy more then any other store.
If you see me please just walk on by, walk on by forget my name and I'll forget it to

With all my time spent Wii hunting, I can confirm this.

That really sucks man. Before the Wii came out I was doing some searching for games, to avoid being disappointed on launch day. I called a Best Buy that was approximately 45 minutes away from where I live and asked if they had Excite Truck and/or Zelda to sell to me today. I was told that Excite Truck was available, so I rushed over there in rush hour traffic to go grab it up. I get there, no Wii games, not a single one.

Obviously, I was pretty pissed. I started asking around and one guy told me that they wouldn't be putting out any games until launch. But then he asking me if I was looking for controller stuff. I told him I would be interested in that as well. He goes to the back and comes back with a few boxes, and starts stocking the shelves with Wiimotes, Classic Controllers, and Nunchuks. There were easily 20 of each on the shelves by the time he was done. In the end, I walked out with a Wiimote and Nunchuk about 5 days before launch. Since then I haven't seen a single controller on the shelves in Rochester or bordering vicinities.

Well I guess I was trying to make you feel better, and probably made you feel worse. Regardless, the moral of the story is, Sometimes good things come when bad things happen ... or something like that.

Unless distrubition centers are breaking them up, Wiis are shipped in boxes of 3. One possibility is one gets held for a store employee, or its just coincidence that you're just seeing 5 instead of 6 or 9.
