I thought the Wii Remote-like TV remotes would be more expensive on eBay than what the real deal will be.  Apparently not.  It's not really that rare or anything.

So today I bought one.  My first eBay purchase.  Finally, eh?  Though it'll only be fun for a short while, it'd be something to look forward to getting between now and a Wii.

Does anyone else have a Wii TV remote?  Or am I just a sucker for Wii stuff now?

I think that's the first time I've seen sucker and Wii in the same sentence.

Post pics of it by odd things.

I've been dying to make the same purchase you have made Jon. It seems like a decent idea, but I am worried I will spend $50+ on it and then a week later somehow it will be released in America for way cheaper. If I muster up the courage, within the next week I'm totally buying one of those.

I don't think it's going to come to America...what was the last big Japanese bonus to come here?

I'm not interested in this myself, because my TV is too darn old for it to even work, but it's a cool idea, I was interested in them too.
That's my opinion, not yours.

I bought one.  I'm a consumer whore =)

In reality, I just like collecting Nintendo stuff.  Is there a guide somewhere that shows how to set it up for your TV?  Mine should be in within the next week.

Since I got shipping that should take three or four days, I expect mine in the mail today or Monday!  In the first half of next week at the latest if there's some delay.

Okay, I got it today, but I got a problem.  Anyone here read Japanese?
Japanese Instructions scan
I can't read the Japanese instructions, and I'm trying to get it to work with my Hitachi TV.  What do I do?

EDIT: Never mind, got it working.  Apparently the power button had to be held down five seconds before entering the Hitachi code.

EDIT: Here's one pic:

Better pictures soon!  Like after I figure out what's wrong with the lighting/settings on my camera/etc.

Aww.. looks so cool. Seems a bit longer than the actual one, though. Maybe it's all relative, though.

I caved in and bought one too.
Hopefully it'll be here in a couple of weeks or less.
I saw that my tv (Philips, yeah, I don't like this brand but yeah I have one) actually has a code in the manual JonLeung posted so hopefully I can use the Wii Remote with it.

I was going to post more pics of it compared to other things but everyone's seen similar pics on IGN or elsewhere long ago.

Last weekend, I put on a white shirt, found a white wall in my house, and reenacted parts of the end of that one Wii promo where people wearing almost all white are using the Wii Remote in various ways.  I started splicing those clips in with the music there but it's probably not going to get finished in time since no one cares.

I much liked doing the sword slash (just like the guy in my avatar) except that I ducked awkwardly at the end... >_<
