Topic: How to begin my Business Venture Proposal.

On Tuesday I am going to give a PPT presentation on my Business Venture Proposal, which is a small game development company. It is strongly recommended that in order to get a good grade on it we should have something that will catch the audience's attention. At the moment my brain is focused on putting together the first half of this proposal (8 pages over the weekend to write!) and was wondering if you guys have any idea on what I can say or show that would be an attention grabber that relates to my business.

Like what type of angle is the small development company going for? Niche content that might appear on one of the three downloadable services for the next generation consoles, a studio that would be used by the bigger companies (Atari, Ubisoft, etc) to develop their projects, or a completely independent studio who would still need to find a publisher for its content?

My only general advice, without knowing more, is to start out the presentation by focusing briefly on whatever the company plans to specialize in and state this either as a problem in the industry or an opportunity that would make this company an ideal... investment choice? (not sure on the criteria).

Well my plan for the business is to start out creating "casual games" with high production values for Nintendo DS and Mobile Phones. I have my first 2 sections (which the presentation is on) planned out, I just need to write them down. What I need help with is something I can show in order to catch peoples attention when I begin (to start off with a bang) that relates to my Business, something that is funny or entertaining.

Handing out DS Lites to the audience would be a big hit, but I assume you want an image or short video clip you can attach to the beginning of your PPT to make the people take note? If you have any concept art done for your titles, an animation of that mixed with your company name and slogan wouldn't be a bad way to start. If you don't have any strong iconic visuals that you can draw from your presentation, perhaps plagarizing some flashy CGI from the web would be the way to go.

Can you play some footage of Nintendogs, Tetris, or Solitaire? Those are like the pillars of casual games, and everybody has probably played Tetris in some form; show off the sales numbers for Nintendogs in a funny way, maybe bring in a real Nintendog from Target.

I do like that idea, I may do that (well maybe everything but the Nintendog since I don't have the money lol).
