Topic: Bring on the new control scheme please.

I spent the better part of an hour tonight, trying to shoot Rupees with my bow in OOT. I was in the shooting gallery because I need the quiver upgrade to defeat the shadow temple boss. You would think after ten years of the analog stick I would have this down, but no, I suck at aiming with the analog stick. It's great for moving, but trying to target with this form of control is not my idea of a good time. It's why I have always shied away from FPS on consoles.

So I say, bring on the Wiimote. It's a new way to do things and I'm sure there will be a learning curve, but hopefully I will actually be able to get it down pat after a few years.

I've NEVER liked console FPSes for this reason.

I insisted upon a mouse for FPS games, but the Wii might change it so even a mouse seems outdated.

I am with you too ShyGy, I personally can't stand most FPSer's for consoles because the controls are all so clunky. It is about time console gaming got flipped on its ear and started to explore new (and perhaps easier) ways of interaction with the games.

I'm trading in Time Splitters: Future Perfect for $3 of credit (bought for $9 new ftw several months ago).  After 2 stages, I was not satisfied with the control scheme (SLOW VERTICAL AIM?  WTF IS THIS MADNESS?  BORKEN AIMING SENSITIVITY).

Bring on this new suspiciously interesting option for aiming.

I can't put my finger on it so to speak, but controlling a gun with my thumb never seemed quite right. They really should have sensitivity training before they develop FPS's.
