Just saw that over there. Very impressive. I love how Nintendo realizes the super sleek packaging really attracts buyers. Maybe if the Gamecube had looked a bit more serious it would've sold better.

yeah this looks ten times more appealing than GCN packaging.  However it reminds me of Mp3 accessories packaging....

Actually yeah, I wouldn't be too suprised if this was someone's idea of a joke. The packaging looks an awful lot (exactly?) like packaging for Apple's own Ipod CASES.

If it's real, I think it looks great. It's also a blatant rip-off of Apple, but hey.

It's good, but not $40 (with a $20 hidden additional cost) good. And yeah, Steve Jobs himself designed that package.

Its not sleek enough, fun enough, and non cardboard looking enough.

"Hey lets have a sleek look console, a sleek looking controller, then a half-done flat black box to put it in."

The design be better if it was:

Shiny plastic
Shiny black
Funner looking/less coffin looking

Above are all ors.  The concept is good the execution is severely lacking.  Also think that if the controller came in a little pooch to give the concept of taking it with you be cool.  The design as a canvas is good.  Though I think they should do something with it.

so, I don't have to edit as Much.

Who's to say that this isn't the same non-functional Wiimote in a box given out at Nintendo's Press Events?

It is, infact.

Agreed. $40 is too cheap for such a thing of beauty.

In the comments one person said he had one of those. That it was the mock up controller they handed out at the Japanese press conference.

You're right; the casing isn't worth $40.. The controller is.
