PAL/NTSC has almost no impact here. It is harder to get a PAL only TV than it is to get a gun. The only time you can get a PAL only is some weird gimped up tv that only accepts RF input.

If they released all future games in NTSC it won't matter. It would save everybody alot of trouble.

Besides, I have never understood region locking. I thought a sale is a sale regardless of where it was. If someone else took the trouble of importing your game to play and saved you the trouble of having to ship and distribute it overseas and avoid tax/lisence issuses, wouldn't you be happy?

That would assume, of course, that everything is being charged at the same rate, which isn't the case. It's much in the same vein as DVD regions: these things can be very expensive in some areas, for example Japanese DVD release tend to cost double what they do in the US and other markets.

If a company has the chance to charge an area more and get away with it, they figure "why not take it"? I hate regions myself, of course, but there is logic behind it from their perspective.

NoA: "We're going to make the Wii region free!"
NoE: "No way, how are we going to rip off and alienate our customer base then?"

KDR_11k > I thought exactly the same thing, NOE is doing it on purpose because they know that alot of people in Europe will be importing games if they have the chance.
