I'm asking this because it seems like only Tennis, Baseball and Golf are officially included in it so far, and I want to know if Airplane and Obstacle course are going to be in it.

I saw a video of Airplane at gccafe (vid is down at the moment though) and it looks like so much fun, it blew me away! Obstacle Course also looks hilariously awesome! Any word of whether or not these two are going to be included in WiiSports? Considering they use the same style and characters i'm hoping they will be, and it would be a shame for these cool games to never be experienced by the gaming public.

Mario, everything of the Wii console is fun to play. Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Airplane, Obstacle, Symphony....all those make me joygasm everytime the name is mentioned. Not to mention, the characters are freak awesome! I vote for a Wii character to be in SSB:B

I didn't think Symphony was in Wii Sports. Nintendo was calling it a "tech demo."

The games that had Wii Sports in the title were Tennis, Golf, Baseball, and Airplane - and they all had the same character designs that look like little lego people. Obstacle had a simliar design, but it was only a tech demo.

Nobody is suggesting otherwise... Nintendo just has a tendancy to show some really neat tech demos and never let us play them.

Thanks Bloodworth, i'm more confident about Airplane being included now. Obstacle I guess not then...

So we have 4 games in 1, does anyone think more will be added? Cricket I doubt will happen... I think Wii Football (soccer) is more likely for the European audience. Maybe Wii Racing? Wii Basketball?

I have a feeling that Wii Sports might actually be a pack in. I hope that I am right. It is a good little set of party games that appear to be something that might have originated as tech demos. Because of how big Mario games are, I know that we will never likely see one as a pack in again.

Maybe it would be nice to return to their roots and throw us a bone in the box? Probably just being overly optimistic in this case, though...

ProtoNY: I was thinking the same thing. I would LOVE for this to be a pack-in, because I think it's a great demo for the versatility of the controller. Of course, I haven't played any of these games, so what do I know? I'm just guessing based on impressions.

Yay motorsports! As for being a pack-in... LOL I think Nintendo selling each Wii Sports game seperately is more likely than that. Is this (are these?) even set for launch? I need more info damn it!

It actually makes a lot of sense for Nintendo to do this. Having a party game included with every Wii along with 2 controllers will get them the kind of exposure they need to see the system. Imagine everyone having these simple little games at their house if they already have a Wii. People will see it and be ablt to play it for themselves. They keep saying playing=believing so why not make it easier for people to play. With MP3 and Zelda as launch titles people may not be able to afford any good multiplayer games for a while. People will not want to try out Zelda or MP3 when they are hanging out at a party or what not, but WiiSports will draw some attention. Even if they do buy Wii Sports how many copies will it sell. Let's say 500000 world wide at 40 bucks which is rather high. If they do that lets say they could have brough back 20Mil in revenue. Now if instead they include the game and a second controller they can up the price of the system a little and the game will advertise Wii everytime someone has company over. Also since the game is 4 player it will practically sell the other 2 Wiimotes which they make for a couple of bucks and sell for realy high profits.

I really hope Nintendo does this in the US because it is in their, and my best interest. I need to get a party game and 4 Wiimotes at launch because we play a lot of 4-player games at my place during cookouts and whatnot. But I don't actually own any of these party games. My GCN and PS2 both have 1 controller alone. My roomates havea GCN and n64 with 4 and an SNES with 5 plus the games. This "advertising" through them has got me to want a Wii with a party game from the get go and I am imagining that having a Wii with fun multiplayer games installed at parties would help sell more systems.

This would play into their "viral marketing" idea rather nicely. It's a game that everyone can pick up and play and if it comes with every Wii sold, it would ensure that it's there for potential Wii owners to try out.

In essence, it's a demo disc which will likely be one of the key selling points for the console for many. Aiming with the Wiimote in MP3 won't impress non-gamers, but swinging a tennis racquet or a baseball bat makes the Wii feel like a virtual reality console and THAT would likely entice those who never planned on picking up a game console ever.

Packing Wii-sports with the console is a MUST.

I'm iffy about the idea of packing in WiiSports. Why? Because it's the best usage of the remote and there isn't really anything else being shown that sells the concept as well. Most of Nintendo's E3 games don't look much different then the sort of games we would get on a "normal" console. Yeah they use the remote but you don't need a remote to make a Metroid game or a truck racing game. WiiSports is only notable because it uses the remote. Nintendo making Super Mario Galaxy would get attention no matter what console it was on. But Nintendo making a tennis/baseball/golf game wouldn't be given a second look if it didn't have the remote.

So I'm concerned that if it's packed in people will buy the Wii, love WiiSports, and then discover that there really isn't anything else like it. So if they're not into Metroid they're out of luck. I'm thinking mostly in a non-gamer frame of mind here. It would be good to pack something in but it might work better if it was more like a demo, like the ping-pong game. That demonstrates the concept but there's still a full game out there that someone impressed by the ping-pong demo can go out and buy. That's what Nintendo really needs. They need non-gamers to not only buy a Wii but buy games and to buy them regularly. They include WiiSports with the Wii and they don't get that extra game sale.

Why give them a whole meal for free when you can give them just a taste and convince them to buy the meal?

Dinzy: I have to ask. What can you do on SNES that requires 5 controllers? I see emulators supporting 5 players, but the only games I know of that you can play with more than 2 are the Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu games which are 3 players.

Pack-in Wii Sports + 2nd controller = $250? Interesting idea. Pack-in games seem to me like a thing of the past. The last console that I know of that had a pack-in game was the SNES about 10 years ago. I think Wii Sports being cheap is more likely.

I would like to see the track and field added to wii-sports, as well as duck hunt, and mario galaxy all on one disk. Seems to me that package is remanicient of a old cartridge that came with another system....

That's a definite "Never-happening."

Nintendo would be smart to add a second control to the pack, simply because that's how you reel in non-gamers. With Multi-player fun. (Mario Party is still the non-gamer game of all time).

There are several four player SNES games. Super Bomberman, Slam Masters, and NBA Jam are some good examples. Five player support though is really rare. I know Madden '94 has it and I assume the Maddens that follow it do as well. Probably some other EA Sports games do. Many of the Japan-only Super Bomberman games support five as well but Super Bomberman 1&2, which are the only ones to be released in North America, only support four.
