Game developers from all over the world are coming together in San Jose, CA.  Satoru Iwata is giving a keynote address.  Will there be major Revolution news?

The 2006 Game Developers Conference in Full Swing; More Than 12,000 Game Makers Gather to Talk What's Next in Interactive Entertainment

Agenda-Setting Developer Event Focuses on Next-Generation Game Design, New Business Models

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Thousands convene at the San Jose Convention Center for the 19th annual Game Developers Conference (GDC). More than 12,000 developers, publishers and industry enthusiasts have gathered for the world's largest event solely dedicated to the art, technology and business of game creation.  The conference will run through March 24, 2006.

This year's theme will focus on What's Next where attendees will gain insight into next-generation development, complex production and budgeting issues, strategic targeting of mass markets, and collaborations with the film industry.

The conference features more than 300 lectures, panels, tutorials and roundtable discussions covering all aspects of the game business.  Special sessions will also be devoted to exploring the future of mobile entertainment as well as serious game applications.  This year's keynote addresses will be presented by a handful of industry leaders, including Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, Sony Computer Entertainment Executive Phil Harrison, legendary game designer Will Wright and creator/producer of the new "Battlestar Galactica" Ronald D. Moore.

"Right in the middle of the next generation console releases, the GDC is the epicenter of discussion on the future of the art, science and business of games," said Jamil Moledina, director, Game Developers Conference.

The week-long event will also feature the Independent Games Festival, the Game Developers Choice Awards, GDC Expo, GDC Mobile, the Serious Games Summit, Game Connection, the Graphic Impact Gallery and Reception, and the Video Games Live Concert.  Through these initiatives and the conference itself, attendees will gain access to the people, technologies and tools that will help define what's next for the interactive entertainment industry.

The most innovative game companies in the world participate at the GDC Expo to help define and provide insight into the future of gaming. Programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals and industry executives involved in the development of interactive games are given a forum where they can exchange ideas, network and shape the industry.

GDC 2007 will take place March 5-7 at Moscone West and North in San Francisco, CA.  For a complete list of GDC 2006 event information, please visit www.gdconf.com.

Anticipation is building for possible new Rev stuff.  I for one can't wait and will be dissappointed if nothing is mentioned.  I am guessing it will be the official name though.  Other stuff will be icing on the cake.

i too will be disapointed if there is no major revolution news. even the announcment of an official name won't be too exciting as i've already adopted 'revolution'. oh well, i guess even that would be better than no news at all. lets wiat and see

ever since the first photos of the REV surfaced, i've DREAMED of them just releasing one style;
NES-themed like the anniversary SP and simply calling it Nintendo Entertainment System 2.

although i'll be the first to admit it would sound stupid with the 2 in the title. when playstation 2 came out my first reaction was "they actually put 2 in the title?". whatever the name ends up being, i hope there will be a rev with an NES paint job. that would ROCK

What if they call it Super Gamecube?

You mean I can plug it into my SNES and play my GC games in colour with a cool border?

No, I think he meant how it went NES to SNES.  Now it should go GameCube to Super GameCube.  Next comes GameCube 64.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
