Controler port one: busted

When I can home after another weekend with my friends my brother informed me that the gamecube had fallen off the table. I know he tugs a little at the cord but this is to much. It plays games well but port one will not work. I have never had a problem with any of my systems and I dont know what to do. Can I just call nintendo's awsome customer service number or Should I buy another cube, the buy a cube get a free game deal sound great, but I'm just getting some advice. Some games work off of port two but not many.

call the customer service first. They will most likely be able to fix it or give you the name and number of a place that can.  Get an estimate and if they can do it for cheaper that the price of the cube/game combo, then your golden.  If not, get a new cube.  Look on the brightside, at least you'll have more color selection.
