The touchscreen definitely was worth being kept as a secret.  It was a big deal.  I'm just saying that Nintendo's secrets aren't always a big deal with the Cube click triggers being a key example.  So with Nintendo you can't rule something out as being a "secret" just because it sounds like a minor feature or that it doesn't really make sense to hide.  Assume that this could be anything, be it insignificant or huge, because Nintendo has a history of hiding all sorts of stuff.

If it were true that you could get an adapter to hook the Revolutoin controller up to a TV through standard RCA cables and play classics on the go, it would be awesome. However, what is to stop someone from going out and purchasing a controller, taking it to their friend's house to load up on games, then keeping that and having retro goodness?

I have no doubts that the Revolution will have strong DRM techniques in place to prevent this type of blatant abuse, but hackers love cracking DRM, and Nintendo has always been a very forward-thinking company when it comes to piracy.

I don't see it happening.

Well, keep in mind that while Nintendo obviously wants to make money on game downloads, their first priority is selling more revs.

Besides, Nintendo'd find a way to do it super-securely. For example, cracking DRMs would be mighty hard for hackers if you couldn't even load games onto a computer.

I just found something very interesting.....

The REV secret that will be displayed May, 9th must be huge. The venue they are going to use in none other than the Kodak Theater. It is where the Oscar acedemies is held. This place is huge, being able to site roughly 3,500-5,000 people.

It seems that Nintendo's taking the whole Hollywood code name a bit serious.

Anyway, at last E3, Nintendo used something 3 times smaller.

May, 9th is my new Never Happening.

Is that true Don'tHate?  If so, that's very interesting.  Yeah, source please.

I don't remember the trigger clicks being a huge important secret, but I wasn't a big user of the internets for Nintendo info back then.  So who knows.

Remember, it's the first showing of the whole thing, games and all. It doesn't mean the secret is big.

Cool... I never actually thought about the Kodak Theatre part.

What I think about the Revolution hinges on what games will be shown there. The Rev better also be playable at E3, since Nintendo's making such a big deal about not seeing the games until you can play them.

Right now the Rev is just a really cool concept to me... Nintendo better have a hell of a showing in 5 months.

ok. listen. nintendo has said that the ds was in development for years.
let me point something out to you. the ds CAN DO 3D ON BOTH SCREENS.
the rev will be similar to the ds in that it will put out two separate video siginals.
steroscopic viewing is coming on rev. i can feel it. omg i totaly sound like a phanboy.
it just seems logical to me.
it will either be compatible with naked-eye 3d monitors or a head mounted goggle set-up.
i'm sure in the past 20 years of virtual reality r&d they have solved the headache problem.
and nintendo always brings us cost-effective innovation

and 360 is a peice of you know what....

About the Kodak theatre thing, do you guys think Nintendo'll fill it?

If they sell tickets to lay people and fill a 3000+ seat theatre for the rev's unveiling, they'd be pretty much guaranteed to get some good mainstream press coverage.

i have read on revolution report (http://tinyurl.com/98dkr) that the conference is not actually held in the auditorium space that seats 3000 people, but rather in a conference room downstairs of the theatre...

this is just what i've read i have no idea...

That would make more sense.  Isn't this sort of thing press only?  What do they need 3000 seats for?  Why would the amount of press present (hee hee aliteration) need to be any different then the Cube reveal or any pre-E3 press conference?

Nintendo could attract 3000 people easily if this was open to the public.  But for press only they really won't need that much space.

Well last year their space was completely packed. Remember the whole Fire Marshall thing? Heh.
