There won't be any significant differences in the graphics of Revolution compared to the other systems

I thought about this more.  The important aspect not being addressed here is the power of each console overall and not just graphics wise.  I really doubt that the Revolution will look vastly inferior to the other consoles but what does concern me is that the Revolution may be lacking in the CPU power department.  Graphics may not be the problem, but rather physics, AI, etc. that can be CPU intensive.  I mean really, how many of you see the Revolution having multiple cores or an even clock speed of both PS3 or 360?  Seeing as you can now truely control things in 3D space I really don't want the physics to be limited due to a weaker CPU.  The thought of this really has me wanting a PPU in there (even if it is just wishful thinking).

Rare published the game. We've been over that so many times I can't even count them all. It was one of the few Rare games that Rare published instead of Nintendo. It was even a subject in one of Jonathan's Mailbags.

Nintendo could release America and Japan at the same time.  Then everywhere else shortly after.

Think about it.

Perhaps:  Summer (June-August) then September-December for world wide release.

It doesn't have to be in the same quarter...just within 14 weeks.

Ok.  So I really need to get off this believing in a summer launch...but I just can't help it.  I want have the Revolution as soon as possible.

So if no game info before 06, is Nintendo going to release info to counteract the 360 release? and if so, what?

Oh well. I'd rather have GoldenEye, PilotWings, and Battletoads anyday. Take one of those away and I might be pissed.

I doubt it, it might be best to wait for all the blind hype to settle down after all.

Agreed. Countering hype with hype seems like a good idea, but important information would get lost in the heap of excitement and confusion.

Since the 360 seems set for a pretty disappointing launch (at least in terms of games) Nintendo would probably do better to use the dead space after Christmas to unveil games. If we don't get any specific game information until March, I'm gonna be pissed.

Actually, you can probably take all of those except PilotWings away.

Battletoads is owned by Rare and was published by Tradewest, Nintendo has nothing to do with it.  The James Bond liscence is controlled by EA and the game was developed by Rare, so I wouldn't expect Goldeneye on the Revolution either unless Nintendo does some major wheeling and dealing.

On the subject of who owns what between Rare and Nintendo, they basically came to the agreement that Nintendo would take all the DK stuff, and Rare would get everything else.  Therefore Microsoft owns Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, and pretty much everything else Rare ever invented except for DKC, DK64 and StarFox.  Maybe Nintendo could fight them on ownership of some Nintendo-published titles like Killer Instinct, but I imagine everything was settled very carefully when the original sale took place.

But speaking optimistically, Microsoft might not argue with rereleasing some older titles like Battletoads or R.C. Pro Am on the Rev.  Games like that really aren't likely to cut into Xbox 360 sales.  Perfect Dark and Goldeneye are another story.

Rare isn't an object considering Ninty published the game...They only need to worry about EA...

Yeah, I have a feeling Nintendo will make a deal to get Goldeneye on the Revolution.  Hell, I think Nintendo will make a deal to get Perfect Dark on the Revolution.  (The Nintendo 64 games obviously)  Why do I say this.

1)Perfect Dark:  Microsoft is in this for Money.  Which is why they allow Rare to continue to make GBA games.  They are also understand that people that loved the original Perfect Dark game could buy an Xbox 360 just to play the sequel.  Why not allow Nintendo to advertise an exclusive software for Xbox 360, by having the original playable on the Revolution?

2)Goldeneye is a game that made EA's James Bond franchise worth something.  IF EA doesn't freely give Nintendo the right to sell it on Revolution then they are stupid.  However, stupidity exists, so Nintendo could make a deal with EA and have it as a promotional download for another EA game, or just buy spend the money to buy the rights from them.

Jim Merrick has already confirmed Goldeneye for Revolution in a previous interview. I'll try to dig it up...

Nintendo may have published Goldeneye, but that doesn't mean they own it.  Just like Capcom doesn't own WayForward's Shantae.  Honestly, I don't know who owns Goldeneye.  From reading Rare's website, Nintendo, Universal Studios and EA would all have to give the go-ahead on a remake of the game, but that doesn't mean Rare wouldn't have to be consulted too.  Nintendo is STILL consulting Rare on the DKC games, I'd be surprised if Rare isn't still in control of the code behind Goldeneye.

Mario: I googled Merrick and Goldeneye and found some hints that they might put Goldeneye on the system, but nothing concrete.  Did he ever say anything more than the system is perfect for a game like Goldeneye?

As for Perfect Dark, I like the idea of the game acting as an "ad" for Xbox 360, but I still think it would probably benefit Nintendo way more than Microsoft.  There's a very good chance that PD0 will not be as good as Perfect Dark, in which case Microsoft probably doesn't want people having a cheap, superior alternative on a system with better controls.  If PD0 can live up to the original in spite of the fact that some key team members left Rare and the game's been in development forever, then a promotion with the Revolution might be a good idea.  I think a more likely outcome would be for MS to rerelease the game on Xbox360 through Arcade Live - or maybe even on both consoles!  That would be sweet!

I am trying to remember...are any of the N64 Torok games worth playing if they had better framerate?  HA!!!

I am curious about this better frame rate...will it be programmed to cap all Nintendo 64 games at 60 frames per second...or will some games (like F-Zero) which are already 60 frames become even faster?

This post gives you exciting news, but then makes you really wish you knew more.

So many Nintendo 64 games were great except for the frame rate...or great and the frame rate increase would only make it even better.

You mean like playing them on the PC? Nah, the level design isn't fixed.
