Bill Trinen has this awesome little computer setup that he types notes on as the interviewee speaks.  I don't know if the notes are in Japanese, English, or some bizzare code from a stenographer's machine.  You can hear keystrokes if you listen closely.

Well some of those responses were really long, so maybe he did such so he would remember everything?

I think it's easier for him to translate while the interviewee's talking and then he just reads it off of his computer thing.
