You guys remember from the E3 presentation, Iwata said something like "I will share with you later" regarding the controller? Iwata will be the one to share it with us? Sounds like TGS is very likely.

"the conrollers will also be very unique in ways we will share with you later" is the quote I believe you are reffering to.  I just watched the Rev. segment at E3 2005.

Something to consider though is he has a full 50 minutes to talk.  The entire E3 presentation was less then 60 minutes long and the all of the Rev. news was revealed in roughly 15 minutes.  This is quite a chunk of time for Iwata to be talking...who knows what he might reveal...

That's simple, to try and convince us NOT to buy an X360. They need to show us (me) something, or people will buy the X360.

I hear ya but I think the early adopters are already set on buying a 360.  I think it's a given the 360 will sell it's share during xmas.  I mean even the dreamcast had a good launch afaik.  I'm sure it sold a million or two or so in the beginning.

I was thinking you wait till the pre-xmas hype dies down and then start hyping up the REvolution in the spring.

Also why let the cat out of the bag about the controller.  They don't want it copied.  Of course MS and Sony probably already know what it is.

Of course I really want them to tell me now damnit.

If Nintendo's idea is so easy to copy, Sony and Microsoft will copy it long before the end of the generation anyway.  Analog controllers became standard in the Playstation's lifetime, even though it started out with a plain old d-pad controller.  What did hiding the N64 controller do for Nintendo?  Not much.  Choosing carts (even though I like them) probably had a bigger effect on Nintendo 64 than having analog control.

Nintendo's advantage lies in quality games that take advantage of the new interface.  Analog control wouldn't have meant much for the N64 if it weren't for the fact that Super Mario 64, Pilotwings, and Wave Race all made great use of it.  As did Cruis'n USA, Mario Kart, Turok and Blast Corps - all released in the first 6 months of the system's lifespan.

Maybe Nintendo should show off the new interface and a simple demonstration of what it can do for a traditional game (Super Smash Bros or Metroid Prime 3).  Then leave us with some game footage and the idea that there are even cooler uses coming for the controller/interface.  The whole "interface" thing could have something to do with this as well.  It's possible Nintendo can reveal the controller and some revolutionary parts of the system without revealing everything.

Whatever the company does, the basic idea is to give people enough info to get excited now instead of 8 months from now.
That's my opinion, not yours.

If no REV news is released at TGS or sometime this month, then many major gaming news companies will be discredited.

Have you guys already forgotten about all the clues that were not only dropped by news companies like IGN, but Nintendo themselves?
