Revolution Screens!!!!
« on: May 27, 2005, 07:34:32 PM »
a mario game on revolution

a zelda game

a metroid game

The games kicked ass, and they will kick ass again. I hope this board lightens up. I showed my ghetto friend what revolution looks like and he thought it was cool from that point. The average consumer doesn't understand specs. they understand screenshots, video and how cool the system looks

This has to be the best use of internet humor ever, or at least regarding video games.

I also hope this forum lightens up a bit too.

Is that what Super Metroid looks like? Neat. I've missed out on so much never owning a SNES.

I wonder if the downloadable version of Ocarina of Time will include the Master Quest.  I also wonder if Nintendo will allow you to download Super Mario All-Stars since that would directly eat into the individual NES Mario game sales.

I hope they do.

I loved the lost levels, and I also appreciated the updated artwork in the All Stars too.

I wonder if it will be along the lines of iTunes, or more of a subscription service for access to everything, or maybe even FREE, who knows they did give OoT away with a preorder.

Should be interesting, a very exciting time to be a nintendo fan.

Ah the nostalgia

And yea, Super Metroid was a truly awesome game; that's the first game you should download when you get your Rev

Despite being made on "lesser" hardware Super Metriod for some reason looks better than the GBA Metroid games.  I think it's because Super Metroid is more dark.  GBA games tend to be brighter for visibility purposes and Metroid doesn't look quite as effective when it's lit up like a Christmas tree.

The SNES runs at higher resolution than the GBA, which also makes Samus three blocks high in Super Metroid instead of the two blocks she measures in Metroid Zero Mission, for example.

With all those NES and N64 ports and stuff I feel I didn't miss anything by not buying those consoles...

Prolly won't be a subscription service, seeing as how Nintendo has gone on and on about casual gamers not being willing to pay monthly fees for gaming.

Those games should be pre installed on all REV consoles. Utilising the systems internal clock they jsut unlock themselves after the first few hours of playing.

That'd be cool.

I'd be better if you couldn't choose how many games, nor which games to download till 2 years into the REV's life. Once you hook up your REV for the first time, a random game becomes unlocked (downloaded). You then trade games with other people online and access those games on their REV. You can then proceed to download a game, but only one game a day. The games would be organized via an iTunes type program.

Though I wouldn't really like that idea since I'd want to download/play ever single game that I hadn't bought, it would promote a feeling of community.

Not only that, but Nintendo could put up ultra rare games as prizes for certain tournaments and such. Then that special winner has that game first, but of course it then spreads to everyone else.

Anyway, it would keep Nintendo owners constantly thinking about their system. People would switch on the REV everyday to check out their new game, the news updates and message boards. The best part of this though, is that all those people who think graphics make the game would get a message telling them a new REV game has been downloaded. They of course would check it out....at first dissapointed, then find out something wierd....its actually fun! The graphics suck ass, but they can't put it down.

This could then give the Nintendo quirky titles more of a chance to succeed.

Anyway, just a very random thought.....

That online tournament idea would be great. Although if you were to win then you'd get the game but then eventually everyone else would too. If the games were to cost money then free ones would work as prizes but if they're free then getting a game at least 3 months in advance would work too.
