I think the American DS launch lineup was pretty bad. The GBA's, after having my memory refreshed by Ian, was better, but not amazing.
I personally agree with the comment someone made about getting around the crap on the GBA. There are a lot of great games on the system, but they're overshadowed by tons of garbage. Thereplenty of games like Sabre Wulf and Wade Hixton's Counterpunch that don't get much credit for their greatness because they didn't get the marketing push to make them stand out among the sequels and crappy liscensed games.
I do agree that Nintendo seems to be putting more first and second-party effort in the DS lineup than the GBA lineup. Super Mario 64 DS is the only "remake" the system has had, and it seems to be far superior to the Mario Advance titles for bonus content. Nintendo has announced tons of titles for the system that are either brand-new titles, or quality sequels, and it hasn't announced much in the way of rehashes at all. I like that.
