Just curious to know how many of you bought into the hype that is the psp.  Particularly those of you who vowed never to touch a non-nintendo product.  If so what do you think about it.  Did it meet your expectations.

I myself vowed to never touch a non-nintendo console back in '96 but it was only a ten year vow, I still have a few months left before my vow expires. I'll just have to wait and see.

I've been saying I'd get one if the price went down to 100$, but then I realized that I'd have to buy 50$ games and a FREAKING MEMORY CARD for a HANDHELD system and realized that it wouldn't be worth it.  I can wait for the next Game Boy.  If not, I'm happy with my little Molestation System (DS).  "Touching is good"  I wonder if Michael Jackson owns a DS?

My fave will always be Nintendo, but I think its foolish to ignore a good product because it's not made by them. I have a Psp, awsome graphics and some really good games so far. I think it's a little expensive for younger gamers, but Im 41 and can pretty much afford what I want within reason.

Yeah it does look like a nifty piece of hardware.  I just dont see the software yet.  Nothing in particular wets my appetite yet.

My answer, no.  It's $250.  It's games are $40 to $50.  That's the kind of money I'll only spend on a console.

No. I just want a portable game console, not an overpriced jack of all trades.

None of the PSP's current games appeal to me. I don't like racing and Meteos is better than Lumines.

I'm too busy playing Super Mario 64 DS to throw a PSP into my schedule. I just don't know what I'd play on it. The only game I'd want is hampered by the PSP's controls. Oh, looks like SCEE has taken that burden from my shoulders.

If I ever come up with that amount of money Ill do the clever thing and Ill just buy a ps2, then again what Ill probably do is just buy more GameCube games. Gaming in the third world is a huge privilege (Nintendo gaming that is, because its so hard to be pirated), here is what Im missing and I always wanted, but I just dont have the money:

Animal Crossing
Pikmin 1 and 2
Eternal Darkness
Paper Mario
Rogue Squadron
Ikaruga
Soul Calibur II
etc etc etc

so honestly I cant wait for next gen, because all these games will see a big price cut and Ill finally will be able to have them.

Oh and speaking of piracy, I believe that there's a Gamecube mod chip now.

When I can freakin afford one.  Picking up my DS next week.  Who knows for the PSP.  It is a good machine, and has some games I am interested in, but not enough yet.
