My Daigasso! Band Brothers Zeromus Remake :D
« on: January 29, 2005, 04:59:53 AM »
I unlocked the pro edit feature in my game, so this is the first song I remade with it! (Within the limits of the music system, anyway):

(Forgive the free webspace..my personal webspace is down right now)

Trust me, there's no way in hell anyone could play that organ line. Looking at it in the practice area just makes you stare in awe (Especially in hard mode).

Also, I plan on remaking some Chrono Trigger music too, when I have time.. what do you all think?

Wow, you seriously composed that.  That is awsome.  Where are you from anyway.  Did you import it, or do you live where its already out.

If you can make music like that with this game, I may seriously consider getting it.  That is awesome, amazing work.

I can't download it...
About the organ line, why is it hard? Is it really fast runs? I don't play piano/organ but I am a percussionist and I can play extremely fast crazy runs on xylophone/marimba/vibes... Or are you just saying it's hard to play in game, but playable on an actual organ? Perhaps I could play it on a percussive organ.. those don't really sound like regular organs though.

When I first saw those japanese playing it(i think like 10 of them), I wanted it.  I love music.  This is my #1 most wanted DS game.  When does it come out in the states?

No official date for the US yet.  I'd like to hear this though if he gets it back up.

Here is the song re-recorded, on another server (my main one).. I don't know if it will be a fast or a slow download, though..probably slow.

Anyway, I'm thinking about a Chrono Trigger song next.. Maybe Corridors of Time..?

How did you get the timing of each instrument right.  Are you taking these from sheet music and using that to compose it onto the DS.

Actually, nope. I've remade that song so many times, I almost know the insides and outsides of it completely. I did, however, use my many Zeromus remakes to guide me.

Wow thats amazing.  My cousin has done the same thing with the forest gump theme song.  He plays it quite well on the piano.

Terra's theme would be relatively easy to remake.. but the song imo is too mellow and boring.. o.o Wouldn't you want something like the decisive battle, instead?

Yeah Terra's easy, it took me about 10 seconds to figure out the notes on xylophone but hey it rocks. Have you heard the version from that concert? It was rearranged by Uemetsu and features a full orchestra and a japanese vocalist (with japanese lyrics). At first I thought the singing was wierd but it's a good accompaniment part to the melody (played by a japanese flute in the first have and then the strings in the end, where the flute takes over the vocalist's part). Anyway the string parts are really cool and there's a great orchestral bass drum part that always hits with two eighth notes, sounding like a heart beat (like in the Metroid Prime 2 menu theme). Anyway the singer could be softer and the orchestra louder and I'd prefer just oohs and ahhs instead of lyrics but whatever.

And there are two great Terra remixes on OCremix.com... One is called Terra in Black, it's basically a guitar anthem with two electric guitars being played by someone who apparently really loves this song (you can tell from the way it's played even) with some cool string hits in the back, and begins and ends with some funky synth vibes. And there's one called Death on the Snowfield which is actually a remix of the aforementioned orchestral concert rearrangement, except very subtle and minimalist, feature only an acoustic guitar, flute (or some sort of high woodwind instrument, wind instruments aren't really my specialty), bass drum, and snare...

Anyway I still think the original Terra's theme is the single best FF theme.. not just as a composition...but just playing that game.. That was easily the best FF rpg and the theme was just so beatiful... I would literally just keep resetting the SNES to hear it again... And everyone I know who played that game apparently did the same haha... Man that song just topped off an amazing game... PS kefka owns sephiroth, the sissy, and all the cliched FF7 characters
