Girls (and guys) can now play house, only in a school setting.

"All Grown Up: Express Yourself" for Nintendo Game Boy Advance Now  Available for Girl Gamers

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 2004--THQ(R) Inc.  (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced that "All Grown Up(TM): Express Yourself" for  the Nintendo(R) Game Boy(R) Advance is now available at retailers throughout  North America. Based on the new Nickelodeon TV show featuring the aged-up  Rugrats -- some of the past decade's most recognizable animated characters  -- the game features unique elements that are expected to appeal to girl  gamers.

"In 'All Grown Up: Express Yourself,' game players will embark on missions  to complete tasks like writing an article for a school newspaper," said  Philip Holt, senior vice president, product development, THQ. "Players can  also acquire clothing and accessories, use an electronic organizer to store  information about friends, customize backgrounds and music - and share it  all with friends via the Game Boy Advance Link Cable."

"We are excited to release 'All Grown Up: Express Yourself' to appeal to the  growing girl gamer market," said Steve Youngwood, Senior Vice President,  Nickelodeon Media Products Group. "Girls have grown up with these popular  characters, so this game is a great tool that allows players to strategize  and interact with them in a fun and innovative way."

About "All Grown Up: Express Yourself"

In "All Grown Up," the familiar babies formerly from the "Rugrats" TV show,  are now a tight-knit band of friends between the ages of 8 and 13, who face  the same issues kids their age face every day: dealing with parents, peer  pressure, seeking independence, grappling with identity, climbing the social  ladder and surviving Jr. High School. "All Grown Up: Express Yourself" game  players will complete missions based on the show to help Angelica create a  good article for the school newspaper. Along the way, they can acquire  different clothes, accessories, wallpaper and music, as well as unlock seven  different mini-games and bonus accessories. Once players have collected  these items, they can customize the main menu and trade accessories with  friends using the Game Boy Advance Game Link(R) Cable. Players can also use  the electronic organizer to save important information about friends, plan a  schedule for the week or store personal information, which can also be  swapped (private information can be blocked). An All Grown Up character test  tells players which character they most resemble. Players can also input  their own topics and pass the Game Boy Advance around to collect and tally  votes.

Considering how old that show is, they've aged rather naturally.

I've actually watched the show a few times and I wasn't bored.  However I didn't really find any of it funny either.  I think it just kept me interested because I was familiar with the characters and they've done a good job of adapting their baby personalities into pre-teens.  Chuckie's still nervous all the time, Angelica's still a b!tch, etc.  I'd say that if you liked Rugrats during it's peak (who watchs it now?) it's worth seeing a few times just for the novelty of seeing the babies "all grown up".

Rugrats was great before the first movie turned up.
