I think I'm taking this alliteration stuff a bit too far.

NINTENDO DROPS PRICE OF TOP-SELLING GAME BOY ADVANCE SP TO $149.95!

Melbourne, Australia, 15th September 2004 – The hottest portable video game system in history is getting the best price for the upcoming holidays and Christmas. Effective September 16th, Nintendo’s record-breaking Game Boy Advance™ SP will sell at an all-time low  suggested retail price of just $149.95, a full $50 less than its current suggest price. The reduction significantly expands the potential audience of an already-dominant consumer electronics device to a wider range of consumers.

“Nintendo has always owned the portable video game market, and this great new price further strengthens our leadership position by offering this best selling Game Boy Advance SP at a very attractive mass market price point”, says Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing, Nintendo Australia.

Game Boy Advance SP, which is front-lit and sports a clam-shell design, has sold more than 20 million units worldwide, and will continue its dominance with an impressive lineup of games. Before the end of the year, Nintendo will launch titles like PokĂ©mon® FireRed, PokĂ©mon® LeafGreen, Mario Pinball Land™, Final Fantasy® I & II and NES® Classics. Further strengthening this line-up are exciting third party titles such as Fairly Odd Parents™: Shadow Showdown, Hot Wheels™ Stunt Track Challenge, Spongebob™ Squarepants: The Movie and WWE® Survivor Series.

Game Boy Advance SP is available in Platinum (Silver), Onyx (Black) and Cobalt (Blue).

It's got a duck bill, you moron!

So now it's nearly as cheap as a Gamecube.

Nice. This means places like Big W and what have you will sell them for like $135. I might get one now. It'd be nice if they drop the games RRP, too. blol $69.95-$79.95, sales ++.

Edit: oh hey Mr. News Robot, there's no P in Australia.

Why get one when the DS is just around the corner?

The GBA will always be a good system. The DS might suck.If the DS is retail for 200USD, they might sell it in Australia for 300AUD. Or they might not bother selling the DS here at all.

AiAi: Multiplayer, of course. Okay, that argument quickly falls apart when we keep in mind that in a month the GC Kururin game comes out and there won't be a need for GBA multiplayer anymore...

That's about 140 US, so it's not *quite* as bad as you think...
