MG:TT Ring Attack HELP!!

I am on the very last ring level. It's Bowser's level and it's the "That's a Volcanoe!" level. I am using Mario and just cannot find a way to reach the top of the volcanoe, i try to hit it kinda straight up where the only elevated fairway is, but from there i just cant get it up into the fairway on the volcanoe. Is this just one of them impossible levels that i gotta keep trying till i get it or is there another way up there that i am missing. thanks!! been trying that level for the past 2 hours.
