Nintendo collected two awards for Marketing at the night's awards.

MCV INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2004 WINNERS ANNOUNCED


The people who make the UK computer and video games industry work recognised for excellence


Friday 23 April 2004/... Sony, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Microsoft and GAME enjoyed a night of triumph at the MCV Industry Excellence Awards as the UK games industry recognised its top performers at the event held in central London.


Hosted by BBC Radio and Television presenter Nicky Campbell, the MCV Industry Excellence Awards brings together the leaders of the £2 billion UK computer and video games industry. The prestigious set of accolades were created to acknowledge the innovation and creativity of people who run the key operational divisions of the games industry's companies and organisations.

I was a little shocked when I read the headline.  Nintendo wins awards for marketing?  In a European country?  Then I read "Gameboy Advance SP" and it all made sense.

"Games Industry Newcomer - Nokia"

This is an award for what?  Existing?

Yeah, how many game industry newcomers are there? But then again, Infinium Labs probably deserved it even less than Nokia...

Hmmm, yeah, I did seem to be playing a lot of UbiSoft games as of late...
