Prince of Persia Sequel Planned
« on: February 03, 2004, 06:20:10 PM »
Wouldn't he be the king by the time the game is released?

Source: Ubisoft

Among the pages and pages of Ubisoft's latest finacial reports, among which include word of increased revenue thanks to Ubi's well-rounded game lineup (which also bagged them a  Louie Award), a simple statement from president Yves Guillemot confirms what seemed to be a no-brainer after the original game was released: A Prince of Persia sequel.

Other than the game will have "improved marketing positioning" when it is eventually released, nothing much else was mentioned.  It wouldn't be too farfetched to say that the game might show up in some form in a few months at E3, but until then, all we know for sure is that PoP2 is definitely coming to consoles, most likely including GameCube.

Why didn't they take the hint?

Now we're probably getting another grossly overrated game.

Whoopee.

I just read an article stating that POP wasn't selling a few week ago. When did the numbers jump?

Apparently it sold around 2 million copies in Europe, according to reports of Ubisoft's newly released financial statement.

I love when people make comments about a game being so overrated...its like they are trying to tell all of us that they know what really makes a good video game and we should all trust them.  I'm playing PoP right now and I am lovin it.

I think it's great, but I'm not sure I dig the Sands of Time coming back.

I know what makes a good game, but I never said you had to trust me. When people say non-factual things, you know, it's inherently their opinion. I'm not going to say IMO every time because I believe that anybody with a couple of brain cells to knock together can make the connection.

I was just saying a few days ago about how bummed I was the sales were bad, and how that meant were not going to get a sequel.
I'm glad I was wrong, PoP was one of the most enjoyable videogaming sessions I've had in a while, now if they could only do something about the combat... and perhaps made it harder....

And get rid of the visions, and the princess, and the glitches, and the linearity, and the stupid dagger, and get a better ending, and a better story, and better bosses, and better incentive to play again...

And subtitles.

And then maybe I'll consider it.

I think a good title would be "Prince Of Persia2: The Quest To Be King". Then like his father is killed and he has to save the kingdom from an evil emperor who killed him and took over the kingdom. See, no sand invovled!
TVman is dead. I killed him and took his posts.

Except every other dtory line in PoP involed some jackass trying to take over the kingdom in one way or another, so that is pretty much a bust.

glitches? i never encountered any glitches in the game. The game was linear..but iv been looking for linearity...too many games have big damn fetch quests and backtracking. The ending wasn't onbe everyone could like..but it felt right to me.

wait there were midl glitches...sometiems the prinmcess would die by like tripping over a chair or soemthign and youd have to go through a big battle again....

i have a plotline...you see he fell in love with farrah....so now theres someone he cares about...someone worth saving in another game ..the thrid one can be about how their wedding is interupted....
