NFL Street VS Blitz???
« on: January 14, 2004, 03:35:15 PM »
Ok, I am a huge fan of Blitz football.  so does anyone know if NFL street is the as good if not better?  Are there any rules in this game compared to blitz?  After seing the commercial I would asume that there isn't very many rules but that's just me.

Any help will be apreciated thank you

I dont know for sure but with EA's track record im sure it will be a lot better than blitz.
On the website it does not mention any type of rules.  It will probably be like streets.
The official website is here:

Thanks for the help, after reading the info and message board from the site I am curious if there are even teams in this game or if you have to create one.  If you know please tell me thanks.  BTW sorry to post this a day before it came out, I had though it came out yesterday (even  though I know some people already have it.

i have the game and i must say it is loads of fun
first off- the game does not play like blitz- the only things that are basically the same between blitz and street are that it is seven on seven football- there are no rules in the game- no pentalties- but that does not mean you can PI every play- you cant- basically the best way to describe street would be to say its a mix between football and the way nba street plays- you can pitch the ball at any time during the game- and you use style moves to build up points and your game breaker- once that is filled up, you can turn it on and it lasts for an entire series- whether you are on offence or defence- on offence it allows you to break more tackles and become nearly invincible, on defence- almost every hit guarentees a fumble- and in case you are wondering the hits in the game are very nice- not as 'wrestling like' as blitz but hard nonetheless- the game has a great number of modes- theres quick play where you choose a team and 7 players from it (there are roughly 12 players from each team to choose from) or pick up game where the game randomly selects 40 people and you can choose any of the 40 to create a team of 7- remember- those members of the team you choose are on both offence and defence- and the single player portion is great- called nfl challenge you create a team of 7 people (you create each person) and you can distribute developement points as you see fit- for speed, agility, ect..
all in all i say this game is great and it is a good pick up for fans of the sport or fans of arcade sports

yup- all the nfl teams are in there- but there are only 12 men on each team to choose from- but thats ok because it makes the gameplay more deep- should you get more wide outs for offence, but sacrifice defence on the line, or anything like that- the gameplay is very fun- i highly suggest this game

I was already interested, but now I am going to have to pick this up.  Is NBA Street just as good?

I was just wondering, in NFL Street, is there any kind of franchise mode or a way to take your team to the super bowl.  I'm getting it regardless, I just wanted to know.  Also, Nintendo Power said NFL Blitz Pro plays like a watered down Madden.  Do you agree with that?  Why? or why not?  I'm only asking cause I was thinking about getting Blitz when I get NFL Street.  Thanks.
It's not that I enjoy bragging on myself.  It's just the one thing I'm good at.

just go for street- i havent played blitz, but from what i have heard, it is a little lackluster- but i did hear it was a fun title- but as for street it is lots of fun- it doesnt have a mode to go to the superbowl- instead it has a mode called nfl challenge- which is lots of fun- first you create a team of 7 guys (you can create each person seperately or have random generated players) and you go through challenges and such- basically there are 2 main things in this mode- the challenges themselves and a thing called the ladder- you start out with tokens (800 i believe) and each challenge costs a certain amount of tokens- and the results are very good- challenges include perform 2 stiff arms, dive in for a td, use only passing plays to score a td, be in front of a team after 20 plays, and so on like that- it keeps the game fresh and fun- and the results are good- you get usually developement points to use on your created players, you can get players from other teams, and equipment to boost your stats- last is the ladder mode- basically it is matchups against all the teams in the division you are in and after you beat all 4, you play the boss (which is the all star team of that division)- you beat the challenge mode, you have to get through all the ladders, in which there are 8 (for the 8 divisions in football)- it is lots of fun and you unlock a bunch of stuff like new teams and arenas to play in- i highly suggest street- it is a load of fun single player and multiplayer especially
