an arena/editor based FPS would be good for the N5

so i've gone on long enough about my PC days, but basically i'm saying TS2 was great, but the story mode for me was almost useless.  sure it was fun, but ultimately the reason i have it is for multiplayer, and i love making maps but the editor is so so limited!  there are enough story modes in other FPS games available, i'm sure they'll always be around.
it would be cool if nintendo made their own FPS that basically consisted of deathmatch maps (ie, arena mode for single player) and put all of the rest of the effort into cool bots and a more powerful editor.
sure i could just get back on my PC (pIII 550 and a matrox g550 - yairight) but i like the idea of LANed consoles all being on an equal playing field, no hardware advantages for anyone, and the appeal of setting up a console LAN being far simpler and faster than a PC one.
gar, so i suppose the game would have to support LAN too - i think i'm asking too much!
the editor of-course can't be as powerful (or can it?) as the 3DSmax type editors used to create maps for PC FPS', but perhaps some more complicated tiles or outdoor environments with simple wireframe point altering to add vertical variation would be cool.
is it as hard to pull off as it sounds?

It should use a block based editor (THPS style), a full ed is impossible to use with a gamepad. I'd love the possibility to make your own player models, but I guess that won't happen... Hm... SD cards! Hey, that's it!

Thats exactly the type of game I want.  A game that lets me make my own games.  A few years ago I was telling everyone it would be to have a game that is best described as GTA.  Though GTA wasn't invented yet.  Not even the 2d one was invented then.  I just wanted a racing game that I could get out and jack another car at any time.  I wanted it all to take place on city streets without barriers.  Essentially I was describing GTA and Driver before they were.  I knew how much fun those games could be.  Some agreed, but didn't share my enthusiasm.  They thought it would be fun but didn't realize just how never ending the fun could prove to be.

For years I've been wanting maker type games for all genres.  A company could build an empire in this unexplored genre.  RPG makers haven't been huge successes because of the complexity of RPGs but a racer maker or FPS maker is a great idea.  TS2 had the most addictive level maker.  The lighting effects were the best part of it.  There just wasn't enough memory to make the levels I wanted.  And character creater would be awesome.  I wish this Marionette game turns out to be a game maker game.  I want tools for old SNES games like Mario World and Zelda Link to the Past because they would be very easy to work with in cookie cutter format.
