Go Speed Falcon! Go Speed Falcon!Following in success of Pokemon and Kirby, F-Zero is the next Nintendo franchise to get the royal treatment. Today Nintendo revealed its partnership with TV Tokyo, Reed Productions and Dentsu to create F-Zero: Falcon Tradition. Set in F-Zero’s vision of 2201 A.D., Falcon Tradition follows the racing adventures of Captain Falcon, his nemesis Samurai Goroh and other game-based and original characters as they fight for money and justice, both on and off the road. The story also focuses on Ryu Suzaku, a cryogenically frozen detective determined to bring down the one who almost killed him 150 years ago in a horrible accident: the nefarious Zoda.
The anime boasts detailed artwork throughout, with 3D-rendered racing scenes comparable to those found in the F-Zero games. For authenticity, Nintendo’s own Shigeru Miyamoto and Takaya Imamura (creator of F-Zero) are acting as Editorial Supervisors.
F-Zero: Falcon Tradition zooms to Japan’s airwaves weekly starting Tuesday, October 7 from 18:30-19:00. Japanese F-Zero fans should also keep an eye out for F-zero action figures and stationary, care of Bandai and Mitsubishi Pencils, respectively.
