Release Dates Announced For Multiple Switch And Wii U Games
« on: April 10, 2017, 02:23:00 AM »

Is the more stunning development the European date for a Nicalis game, or the two Wii U disc games?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/44424/release-dates-announced-for-multiple-switch-and-wii-u-games

Some release date updates for April to June on Nintendo consoles:

  • Mr. Shifty, originally tagged for a "mid-April" release on Switch, will be launching this week in North America, joined by The Jackbox Party Pack 3 and Samurai Showdown IV from the Arcade Archives.
  • Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will be launching on disc and in the eShop on May 23. The remake of the 2010 PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 title will be joined shortly after on the Wii U shelf by a game based on the upcoming Cars 3 which pulls into the Wii U and Switch on June 13.
  • Nicalis has entered into a partnership with HeadUp Games to publish their titles in Europe and Australia starting with The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+. The card and download will drop in those territories "by the end of the second quarter".

Hey neat to see some more Wii U support! We haven't heard anything about the Axiom Verge disc release yet have we? Kinda hope they're still doing that, though it'd be understandable if it got cancelled. I guess there's some sort of cosmic poetry to the original Wii having a Cars title in the launch line up, and the Wii U's final(?) disc release being Cars 3.

Keen to play the first Darksiders on Wii U - have been holding off on the sequel since this was announced, but started to worry it wasn't going to happen on the platform.  Glad that I didn't cancel my preorder copy.

Can't see how this will be profitable for them though. By May 23rd, will any gamers still care about Wii U? Almost seems like a goodwill gesture to fans more than anything.

I really happy about Darksiders. I will buy it day 1 for sure. I want to support them for not cancelling it. I had ut preordered last year, but cancelled it early this year because I thought it would never come out.
I will have to preorder it again, because I dont see EB getting in any copies without one.

I thought Darksiders already released. What happened there?

It was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC back in November. The Wii U version has not come out yet though.
