Topic: Switch - How to Transfer Digital to SD?

I just purchased a microSDXC card and was planning on transferring my digital download of Zelda BOtW from the internal storage to the SD card. To my surprise, there does not appear to be a way to do this. If I go into Data Management > Manage Software, the only options I have are Archive Software, Delete Software, and Check for Corrupt Data.


Do I have to "Archive Software" (apparently deletes game and keeps save data) and then re-download the entire game again (which a bit over an hour to originally download)?


If so, it seems like a serious oversight here in the ability to manage data.

I think you might have to redownload it. I recall seeing a headline on IGN last week before the Switch launch which mentioned that save files for games done on the Switch's internal memory could not be copied or transferred on to an SD card that was inserted into the system. If you want it on the SD card, you have to save it to the card and not the system. Provided I gleaned that information correctly, I would think that would apply to download games for the system as well. There was talk that hopefully Nintendo releases a patch/upgrade in the future to rectify that but I think files put on the Switch's internal memory are trapped there with no way to move them out except deleting them.

Typical Nintendo stuff. Hopefully, they fix this. There will probably be an update.

I'll probably buy a Switch in September.
