Where are these super frustrating parts of Xenoblade Chronicles that everyone keeps talking about?
I had a hard time finding a copy so I’m currently on my first playthrough. I’m absolutely LOVING the game, but I’m 75 hours in and I haven’t yet seen any of these super frustrating parts. I don’t know how to illustrate how far into the game I am without spoilers except by saying that Shulk is at level 69.
Almost everytime I’ve gotten to a part or a boss that I couldn’t beat first I change up my strategy and if that doesn’t work I do some reading online and there’s always some technique that I haven’t yet learned or figured out and once I start using it I’m able to get through that part.
Am I just not quite there? Maybe I’ll hit these things tomorrow? I don’t know but I’m always bewildered when I hear this about this game as I haven’t experienced it yet.

Good show! Hope there will be only good news to talk about come one week from now.

Near the end of the game, the difficulty spikes up on the bosses. Of note is one where the game introduces poisonous floors along side a boss that hits hard. As a player who did much of the side content and was over-leveled for much of the game, even I noticed the spike in difficulty at the end of the main story.

Focusing more on the middle, there are a major points of story telling that could be a drag for some players. The first notable one for me are the events upon reaching the Bionis' head. Others include Sword Valley and what happens after. I can imagine these points being exhausting and restricting for some players.

That boss you described with the poison floor I'm not that far yet, so maybe I just haven't quite hit this uptick in difficulty.

However, the story elements you mentioned, I have gotten past all that and all the story and cutscenes and detail I've absolutely enjoyed. I think this game has an incredible story and I always look forward to the next cutscene. In fact sometimes on Saturday mornings when I'm up early playing my young kids will come in and they also love watching the story driven stuff and cutscenes with me.
In short, I have to strongly disagree with the story being a drag, but I guess I still can't comment on the difficulty spike at the end. Maybe I had wrongly assumed that after 75 hours I'd be almost at the end.
Maybe you can clue me in to how close I am to the difficulty spike  ***don't click the link below if you don't want to see spoilers*** I found this guy on GameFAQs that is stuck on the las boss I beat so I'm a little past this.

My memory is fuzzy on the progression of the Main Scenario, but I believe you are at least in the last quarter of the main story. You still have some way to go before you go through the last two "dungeons" of the game, which is where I feel the difficulty spike hits. If I recall correctly, you have yet to go through the main story's second point-of-no-return (SHOOT THE CORE).

D'awww. Always enjoy your kind words, Enner.

And yup. Poison floor boss is so bad that I might have quit the game had I not been reviewing it.

Honestly don't know how to guide you through Poison Floor Boss 'L' ('L' being the first letter of the boss' name). It has been too long and I felt that I was still over-leveled during that fight (It was so perfunctory that I didn't notice the poison floor until after the battle). So, maybe some grinding?

I was playing Melia for the majority of the end game as she does amazing damage in the hands of the player (the computer very not so much). If you're having a tough time in bosses, I would suggest changing characters to be more focused on killing rather than survival. If you haven't already, try benching Sharla for characters with light healing such as Shulk, Riki, and Melia. Then try stacking offensive characters such as Dunban, Shulk, Melia, and possibly SEVENTH. You might discover being able to kill faster is the path to success.

I do recommend to trying out Melia. Her auras and elementals are unique and bewildering, but do massive amounts of damage when learned. Key points are that you discharge your last summoned elemental and the lightning/thunder elemental is the one that hits like a truck.

Thanks, with all the different strategies I've tried controlling Melia isn't one of them so I guess I'll have to learn how to use her effectively thanks
