This is stupid.
Dude found an old bottlecap that was one of three pieces - supposedly one of the most common of the three pieces - required to win a Game Boy from an early 90s contest. He then makes bogus claims about how "he would've won a Super Nintendo" online and the companies send him a bunch of swag without any good reason.
Hopefully I'm missing the part where the guy is mentally challenged, because otherwise he definitely does NOT deserve to rewarded for posting BS online.
(Yes, I'm jealous. But I also firmly believe that rewarding people for stupidity isn't something that should be applauded.)
On a more positive note, I miss the days of pop caps and bags of chips having rewards that didn't require you to enter codes online to enter a draw. That was a pretty cool part of my childhood - even if I later found out that there was a pretty hefty amount of corruption with some of the big contests (one well documented example being McDonald's Monopoly).
