I'm not a fan of the series myself but I know a few people who love it. They both have the newest one and keep saying they really like the story but this one guy is whining through the whole thing- I have no idea who they're talking about, but they keep talking about him.

I read it, it was good.

They may have been referring to the main character.  He never stopped complaining through the whole book; it got annoying.  Another thing that peeved me slightly was that some of the characters were caricatures. . . not realistic enough.  Asdie from that, though, I liked it.

i have about 200 pages to go....the book is great on so many levels. i love how she has developed the story and the characters. its way better then i thought it would be, and my expectations were still high. i like how she made harrys emotions. he is getting somewhat big headed and selfish at some points, which seemed to be missing from the earlier books. its definitely the best book so far in the series imo. if u have read the whole series, u can tell that she has definitely grown as a writer. i want to finish it this weekend. if there is anyone out there who hasnt given the series a chance yet, i stongly suggest it. if u like lord of the rings and the cronicals of narnia, then u will probably like this. its just and epic story. and the reading is really easy u will be done with the 5 books in a month if u read fast enough. its not a waste of time. i used to think harry potter was dumb, but i had never given it a chance, and i was hooked after the first book. dont base ur judgement on the movies, because as usual, they arent nearly as good as the books. READ IT NOW!!!

Yeah, Harry was extremely tactless.  Also, he was irritable throughout the whole book; seldom did he have a happy thought.  I wondered if Rowling did this intentionally, and that it was the link between Voldemort and Harry that made Harry unpleasant; Voldy was mad, so Harry got mad.

Then I figured he was just ordinary grumpy.

yeah harry is a grouch it should clearly be called The Weasley's instead of Harry Potter, they clearly do more interesting things, specially Fred and George. especially when they were setting all sorts of stuff off, like the swamp, and annoying umbridge that was classic, proffesor filtwick owns ^_^

You're right, Harry is very pissed this time around...but he's not really annoying, he's going through major changes. This book is one of J.K's best though.

oh yeah dont get me wrong, i love the book, its as equally as good as goblet of fire, perhaps better, ill have to re read it.

and yeah, i kinda finnished it so fast cause i was sick in bed, didn't really have much else todo, so i charged through it, but now im pissed cause i have to wait for the next one *waits 2 years* crap -___-

edit: i dont know if its just me, but this book seemed to contain more english slang (which is a good thing) than the others, made it seem more... real.. if you get me, like the skiving snackboxes and such.

Yeah, PIAC, the Weasley Twin's getaway was very cool.  I reread that part two or three times just because it was so darned fun.
