The Capcom-developed Game Boy Advance Zelda game is coming soon to a GamePad near you.

The Game Boy Advance game The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is heading to the Wii U Virtual Console on May 29 in Europe. It has been announced for an unspecified date in North America, as well, with simultaneous release in the two territories likely but unconfirmed.

Originally released in 2004 in Europe and Japan and 2005 in North America, Minish Cap features the villain Vaati and tells the origin of the Four Sword. The main gameplay hook centers around the titular hat, which talks to Link and also shrinks him to miniature size.

The Minish Cap is directed by Hidemaro Fujibayashi, who most recently directed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. For more info on Fujibayashi, read our feature on his history.

WaHoo!!! Too bad there isn't a confirmed date. Hopefully it's not the next Super Mario Bros 3 where us North Americans sit here and wait forever without even knowing when we'll get it.
I never played this Zelda (I was in Argentina for 2 years and this game came out during one of them). I'm excited to give it a try.

I missed it as well. It has been sitting on my Amazon "To Buy Used" list forever so I'll add it to my list of GBA games I will buy on U instead. Hopefully this trend continues through the rest of the Wii U life cycle (however long that may be).

If they add N64 and game cube games to Wii U virtual console then my list of games to buy on Wii U will get very big. With GBA I bought advance wars and I'm wanting to buy advance wars 2 and minish cap and I'm considering Metroid and Wario Land 4

After finishing ALBW, I was hungry for more Zelda, so I played Minish Cap on 3DS.  I found it very difficult to go back to the play style and pacing.  The combat is relatively clunky and there is a ton of filler.  On the bright side, it has a great art style and decent dungeons.  Like the painting mechanic in ALBW, the shrinking mechanic gives the world more depth. I would probably like the game much more if I played it when it launched.

That reminds me, I still haven't played this on 3DS...

I recall hearing that this game didn't scale well to a TV.

What about a potential 6" GBA screen?
