Wii Production Ceased in Japan

The console that changed the industry has ceased production.

Production of the Wii has ended in Japan according to the official Japanese Nintendo site.

It's been over six years, close to seven, since the Wii was released in Japan and almost a full year since the release of the Wii U, and now production of the Wii has finally stopped. Nintendo's official Japanese website Wii page now says "production ceased."

There is no word yet on when production will end in other regions.

It looks like everyone was right about the Wii dieing. It took six years to prove them right.
