Its elite pirate body parts, not kraid.  I doubt that Kraid can even leave zebes.

Except the scan data (I went back and checked) said he died on Zebes.  I don't recall fighting any Elite Pirates in Metroid 1.  Also, Kraid was quite small (roughly a few feet taller than Samus) in Metroid 1.  I assume he got pumped full of Phazon like everything else in the Space Pirate army and grew humongous.

...or is Kraid indigenous to Zebes?  Maybe there's more than one?  There are Kraid babies in Super Metroid...

just to let everyone know, both super metroid and the original metroid take place on planet zebes. so u really cant tell yet until nintendo announces it.

no, its definately NOT super metroid.  

I severely doubt they would do any graphical update to super metroid... and super metroid didn't have the long beam, OR go into some of the area's of zebes already shown.
