Gameboy Advance SP - Some questions
« on: May 27, 2003, 05:34:06 AM »
Got my Gameboy Advance SP yesterday. Honestly it is my first handheld and it is a beautiful machine.

But some questions still remain...

Today, I picked up Golden Sun (1) US at a local 2nd hand shop for 10EUR (~ 10$). Unfortunally it apeared to be defective. I was able to save ingame but when I switched the GB advance off and tried to continue, all my savegames were 'erased' the game started with the 'enter your name screen'. It seems the battery(?) or the part of the catride which stores the save data is faulty. Or is this some kind of incompatibility beetween european GB advance and the US game? I am kinda worried 'cause I thought about importing some other games like Golden Sun 2 etc. Fortunally I was allowed to return the game.

I apologize to turn this into another 'What game should I get threat' but I am really into 2D console RPG and sure I'll try to get most of the advance titles:
Golden Sun 1 & 2, maybe the two BoF, Lufia etc. What other RPGs you would recomment? I thought about shinging soul (the shing force spinoff) but I found only a few mixed reviews about this game so I am not sure about this one.

Is there some kind of 'gear' I should check out? The only two things I thought about are the 'headphone output' and the GameCube - GB link cable.

Hi

Good RPGs for GBA I would recommend are Pokemon (Ruby or Saphire), All the Zelda Games, and Golden Sun. those should keep you busy for a while.

There is a nice addon for it (I forget who makes it) but it is plastic and slides over the lower half of the GBA SP (i.e. not the screen half) and has grips for you to hold on to. It was only like $7 and is pretty nice if the GBA-SP is a little small for you.

Also make sure you get a nice case for it so it doesnt get all scratched up.

I tried some of the magifying lenses and didnt really like em. Then distort the picture too much.

Make sure to get a 4-way link cable to play with your friends.

Hope this helps
