It didn't. The problem was the idea of asymmetrical gameplay. It was kind of a short sighted idea that mostly worked in a party game type setting. Take that in to more traditional games, and you have a problem. Having one player with private screen in Madden to select plays with, while the other doesn't makes the asymmetry an unfair advantage. Sure, both players could just use the Pro Controller, but then again you could just play the damn game on the PS360 you already own. The key feature of the console could easily be a game breaker in many local multiplayer situations, and the Controller Pro doesn't solve that problem.
