Mario, Link, and the gang made it into Scribblenauts' Wii U debut, but they aren't making a return trip.

Batman won't be able to interact with Mario in Scribblenauts Unmasked, according to developer 5TH Cell.

"No Nintendo characters made it in this version, mostly because we had so much work to do in order to get over 2,000 objects from the DC Universe into the game!" Senior Producer Caleb Arseneaux told us in a forthcoming interview.

Originally, several Mario and Zelda characters and items appeared as objects in the Wii U version of Scribblenauts Unlimited, which was a Wii U launch game. They were a late addition to the game, so late that they couldn't be implemented into the 3DS version.
