As a huge fan of the Uncharted series, does Uncharted 3 compare nicely with Uncharted 2?

No, it doesn't.  Uncharted 2 is a far better game IMO in just about every way except visuals.

Well I have the Uncharted 3 soundtrack, and it's about on-par with Uncharted 2's music. How is the multiplayer in Uncharted 3? Is it more balanced and varied (more modes, matchmaking, etc.)?

Also, can I add you on PSN? I have Uncharted 2, Soul Calibur 5, GTA 4, Saints Row The Third, Killzone 3 Multiplayer, Marvel vs Capcom 2

Eh, the multiplayer feels more or less the same with a few improvements here and there.  The new objective co-op mode is a nice addition, but I was so disappointed by the dull and frustrating SP that I got rid of the game a long time ago.  I'm hoping that I end up enjoying Uncharted: Golden Abyss on Vita a lot more.

Certainly.  My PSN ID is "broodwars".

The melee combat is far better in 3, I actually enjoyed taking people down with melee attacks as opposed to just using weapons the entire time.

Uncharted 3 is a great game and I had a lot of fun with it, but it's hard to top Uncharted 2.

I just want to point out Uncharted 1 isn't a bad game. You never hear people talking about that one, though.

I have the Uncharted 1 & 2 Dual Pack. I beat Uncharted 1, and enjoyed it, but Uncharted 2 is better in every way. The graphics, story, voice acting, controls, music, sound design, cinematic presentation are all greatly improved.

Eh, it may not be a bad game per say, but it's a game I had a great deal of frustration with given its tendency for wave-based "goon rooms" where you walk into a room and then bunker down as wave upon wave of goons close in on you.  Like Uncharted 3, it's a game where I dreaded having to pull my gun out because the shooting was just not fun to me.  Uncharted 2 has a sense of speed and freedom to the flow of its combat and level design that negated a great deal of that frustration for me.

Uncharted 1 felt a lot like a third person COD to me, but that isn't a bad thing because I like COD. But that's the only Uncharted game I've played thus far. Maybe I will enjoy Uncharted 2 far more. But either way I think the original is probably underrated.

I dunno why this thread is in general chat.

I recently bought Uncharted 3 also and I'm only two hours in, but man, something feels... off. I enjoyed the gunplay in the first, loved everything about the second, but this just isn't doing it for me so far. Part of the problem is that it's over animated. Nate reacts too much to things. He touches EVERY doorway/environment object he can. He stumbles EVERY time he lands a jump. He's much easier to knock off balance. Basically it feels like he's suddenly developed ADD and he's drunk. More problematic is the shooting. Not fun. There are alternate aiming settings or something but I can't tell a difference between the two. But yeah, the set pieces and cutscenes are still great. Hopefully things improve but so far, I'm not digging it.

Hey, I just bought it too! It was on sale at Target and I nabbed it.

Several hours in and...I'm just not sure what to think. TrueNerd is right about Nate's animations. He's always doing too much stuff. He basically only behaves when you're walking (or jogging) on the right path and doing the right things. The game is just not built for any kind of exploration. The aiming feels significantly slower, too, but maybe I can change that in the settings. The game does LOOK nice, though, and sounds great.

Here's the thing, though: I thought Uncharted 2 was ridiculous in its telegraphing sections, but it ain't NOTHIN' compared to Uncharted 3. I don't endorse the Dragon's Lair comparisons, but I certainly sympathize with the people who make them.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.
